The Parish Council has now placed full grit bins at the following locations:-
Hugo Way (2); Meynell Fields (2); Chestnut Road (2); Hunters Point; Derwent Drive ; Reynards Rise; Kestrel Drive; Smithy Lane, Knighton; St John’s Way, Ashley; Chapel Lane, Hook Gate; Eccleshall Road /Tower Road Junction. The Parish Council has also taken responsibility for filling the grit bin owned by Severn Trent Water at its treatment plant in Tadgedale. Fifteen bins in total.
Additionally, piles of grit have been placed along various minor roads, including The Dale, Ashley; Tinkers Lane; Peatswood; six piles on the road from Almington to Hales; the ‘green triangle’ in Hales; at the turning for Almington from A53; and at the junction of Rock Lane & Mucklestone Wood Lane.
Please contact the Parish Council when bins need replenishing.
We will also be using a private contractor to grit some of the roads within the Parish to complement the work undertaken in this regard on principal highways by Staffordshire County Council.
